Cooperative Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/portulaca-oleracea/) support the selection and growing details below. The cultivar palette is supported by [Elsner PAC](https://www.pac-elsner.com/en/bed-and-balcony.html).
## Growing
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. N.C. Cooperative Extension reports that common purslane tolerates drought once established and can grow in poor, compacted soils. Water young plants as they establish and check container mix during prolonged heat; prevent standing water around roots. Danziger describes PAZZAZ NANO™ as naturally controlled and early flowering, but its product guidance does not specify a regular pruning or deadheading schedule.
## Maintenance
Check watering regularly while plants establish, especially in containers during hot weather. Keep the growing medium well drained and trim only if stems extend beyond the intended planting area; Danziger does not specify routine deadheading.
