About Primo® 'Pistachio Ambrosia' Coral Bells

Primo® 'Pistachio Ambrosia' coral bells is a foliage-led perennial with broad, rounded chartreuse leaves that make a bright mound in a shaded planting. Pink flower spikes rise above the leaves in midsummer, adding a second layer of color. Proven Winners presents it as an improvement over 'Pretty Pistachio,' selected for greater resistance to leaf burn and discoloration. ## Foliage and flowers The foliage is brightest in filtered light or morning sun, while the plant is suited to part shade and shade. The leaves hold the display between bloom periods, and the flowers draw bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. [The cultivar profile](https://api.provenwinners.com/plants/heuchera/primo-pistachio-ambrosia-coral-bells-heuchera-hybrid) lists foliage 10–12 inches tall, a 28–32 inch spread, and hardiness in USDA zones 4–9. ## Garden placement Use the rounded mound at the front or middle of a shaded border, along an edge, or in a container where its chartreuse leaves contrast with darker hosta or fern foliage. Give it enough room to spread; the flower scapes stand well above the foliage. ## Growing conditions Plant in humus-rich soil that drains freely. Average moisture is suitable, and the soil should not remain waterlogged. Part shade is a useful balance for strong foliage color. ## Maintenance In early spring, remove leaves that have become tattered over winter. Keep the crown at soil level and maintain drainage through winter to reduce crown problems.
