Primlet® Rose with Edge Primula

Primlet® Rose with Edge is a compact primrose in PanAmerican Seed’s Primlet® series, with double rose-pink rosebud-shaped flowers edged in white and a light fragrance above dark green foliage. The grower lists winter and early spring flowering, and the Royal Horticultural Society describes Primlet series plants as semi-evergreen perennials. Loam and sand are suitable growing soils. The RHS lists a compact Primlet size range of about 0.1–0.5 m; the supplier gives narrower 5–6 in. height and 5–7 in. width ranges for this product. ## Garden use Use the mounded rosettes in a seasonal container, at the front of a flower border, or along a garden edge. The double flowers work well where their rose-pink color and white edging can be seen close up. ## Maintenance No pruning is required. Keep the soil from drying out, particularly in sunny positions.
