Cowslip

Primula elatior, commonly known as the oxlip, is a charming semi-evergreen perennial that forms a low rosette of textured, oblong-ovate green leaves. In mid-spring, it produces elegant, upright stems topped with one-sided clusters of nodding, pale yellow flowers featuring a darker golden eye. This award-winning species thrives in moist, humus-rich soils and is ideal for naturalizing in woodland gardens, wildflower meadows, or shaded borders. It prefers partial shade but tolerates sun if kept moist.
