About Self-Heal

Prunella vulgaris, commonly known as self-heal, is a low-growing perennial herb in the mint family with creeping, square stems and lance-shaped leaves. It produces dense, cylindrical spikes of tubular, purple to violet flowers from late spring through autumn. Highly adaptable, it thrives in moist, well-drained soils across various light conditions from full sun to shade. Historically valued for its medicinal properties, it is often used as a groundcover or in pollinator beds.
