About Perfection Apricot Fruit Tree

Perfection is a productive apricot tree valued for very large, sweet, juicy fruit. Its freestone apricots have pale orange-yellow skin without a red blush and firm, bright-orange flesh; the tree is described as hardy and performs well where spring frost is a concern. Dave Wilson Nursery places its fruit in the early-midseason harvest period, with June 10–22 dates for its Central California reference site; local timing varies with climate. ## Garden Use Grow Perfection in a sunny home orchard where its spreading canopy has room to mature. Harvest the fruit for fresh eating, preserves, or drying, and consider a compatible apricot nearby for pollination. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Apricots flower early in the season, so choose a site with good air drainage and avoid frost pockets where possible. Chilling needs and harvest dates depend on local winter and spring conditions. ## Maintenance Prune to an open framework after harvest, removing dead or crossing branches. Thin heavy fruit clusters if needed to support consistent sizing, and monitor for common stone-fruit pests and diseases.
