Create design onlineAbout Bing Cherry Tree
‘Bing’ is a sweet cherry valued for large, firm, juicy fruit that ripens dark red to nearly black in midsummer. Its white spring flowers precede the crop, and the exact seller page lists USDA zones 5–8. ## Site and fruiting
Grow in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. ‘Bing’ needs a compatible pollinizer; choose a different sweet-cherry cultivar with overlapping bloom and follow nursery guidance for local compatibility. The current size values are retained because the seller lists markedly different mature dimensions for standard, semi-dwarf, and dwarf rootstocks. Expect the final height and spread to depend on the rootstock and training.
## Maintenance
Provide regular water during establishment and fruit development, while avoiding waterlogged soil. Prune to maintain a sturdy, open framework in suitable dry weather. Harvest in July when fruit is fully colored and sweet; netting may help protect ripening cherries from birds.
