Pacific Pride™ is a selected seedling of Kreibich nectarine, grown for abundant aromatic fruit with juicy white flesh and red skin. One Green World reports that it ripens about two weeks later than Kreibich, around mid-August, and appears self-fertile.
## Fruit and site
Plant in a sunny position with well-drained soil. The supplier lists Lovell peach rootstock, a mature height of 10–12 feet, and USDA zones 5–9; no mature spread is specified. Its fruit is sweet and juicy, and the supplier describes the tree as appearing resistant to peach leaf curl. See [One Green World’s Pacific Pride profile](https://onegreenworld.com/product/pacific-pride-nectarine/) for cultivar-specific details.
## Growing conditions
Peaches and nectarines need good drainage, winter chilling suited to the variety, and adequate summer warmth for fruit to mature. Give young trees consistent moisture while roots establish, then irrigate deeply as needed around the root zone rather than keeping the trunk wet. [UC IPM’s peach and nectarine guide](https://ipm.ucanr.edu/home-and-landscape/cultural-tips-for-growing-peach-and-nectarine/) explains site choice and irrigation.
## Maintenance
Train a young tree to a sturdy open canopy. Nectarines fruit on one-year-old wood, so annual pruning helps renew fruiting branches and admit light; thin an overly heavy crop after fruit set to improve fruit size and reduce limb strain.
