About Donut Saturn Peach Tree

Saturn, also sold as Donut Peach, is a distinctive flat peach with sweet, juicy white flesh and a low chilling requirement. The cultivar is self-fertile and blooms early, so its flowers can be vulnerable to late spring frost. ## Flowers and fruit Large double pink flowers appear in spring. The flattened peaches ripen early and have a sweet, low-acid flavor; the pit separates freely from the flesh. The fruit is useful for fresh eating and home preserves. ## Growing conditions Plant in full sun and balanced, even moisture. Saturn is listed for USDA zones 5–8. Choose a site with good air drainage where possible, since early flowers may open before frost risk has passed. Allow room for a vigorous tree, adjusting expectations for rootstock and pruning. ## Maintenance Water regularly while young and during dry weather, keeping the root zone moist but not waterlogged. Reduce grass competition near the trunk, and top-dress with compost as needed. Prune in summer to improve airflow and reduce disease pressure; remove damaged or crowded growth. Thin excess fruit after set and harvest when the peaches are ripe.
