Hollywood Plum Tree

Hollywood is an edible ornamental plum with spring blossoms, colorful foliage, and medium-sized, round fruit with red skin and flesh. The fruit ripens in early summer and works well fresh, in jelly, or for canning ([Louie's Nursery](https://www.louiesnursery.com/plants/fruit-trees/plum-trees/hollywood-plum/)). ## Garden Use This named selection has an upright habit and is reported as self-fruitful. Its foliage adds color through the growing season, while its fruit crop gives it a place in a home orchard as well as an ornamental planting. It is listed for USDA zones 5–9 and about 300–400 chill hours. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun and provide regular water, particularly during establishment and fruit development. Give the upright crown room to mature and maintain good air movement around the branches. As a named fruiting ornamental, Hollywood brings both a harvest and foliage color to a mixed edible landscape. ## Maintenance Water deeply in dry periods and prune to preserve a balanced, open framework. Remove dead or crossing branches and keep the tree accessible for picking. Harvest as the fruit colors and softens in early summer.
