Create design onlineAbout Pink Flair® Flowering Cherry
Pink Flair® is a narrow, upright Sargent cherry with clusters of single pink flowers in spring. It flowers later than the species, followed by orange-red autumn foliage.
## Appearance
The compact, vase-shaped crown is suited to smaller yards, streetscapes, and other places where a broad tree would be difficult to fit. J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co. gives a mature size of about 25 feet tall by 15 feet wide and lists the selection for USDA Zone 3b. Later flowering can reduce exposure to early spring frosts, although local weather still affects bloom and fruit set. [J. ## Growing Conditions
Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil and enough space for the mature crown. The dark green leaves provide summer cover before the bright fall color develops.
## Maintenance
Water consistently while young and during extended dry spells. Prune selectively to remove damaged or crossing wood and to maintain a strong, open framework; avoid heavy pruning that spoils the tree’s natural narrow vase shape.
