Spice Zee is the named NectaPlum® interspecific fruit tree developed by Zaiger breeders and licensed by Dave Wilson Nursery. Its white-fleshed fruit combines nectarine and plum traits, and the tree also offers purplish-pink spring bloom and red new foliage.
## Fruit and growing range
The [Dave Wilson Nursery Spice Zee page](https://www.davewilson.com/nurseries/products/fruit-trees/nectaplum-interspecific/spice_zee/) describes dark maroon skin that becomes pale pink when ripe, self-fruitfulness, and a typical harvest window from July 16 to August 7. The nursery currently lists 200–300 chill hours and USDA Zones 6–10. The [plant patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP13503P2/en) identifies the named interspecific tree, describes its white freestone flesh and maroon-red skin, and records publication of U.S. plant patent USPP13503P2 on January 21, 2003. Patent descriptions reflect their stated trial conditions, so use local nursery guidance when assessing chill suitability.
## Maintenance
Give the tree a sunny position with free-draining soil and water consistently during establishment and fruit development. Because it is self-fruitful, a second cultivar is not required for pollination. Prune to keep a stable, open framework, and thin an overly heavy crop to protect branch structure and encourage market-size fruit.
