Create design onlineAbout Wine Palm
Wine Palm (*Pseudophoenix vinifera*) is a slow-growing, robust palm native to Hispaniola. UF/IFAS describes it as more robust than *P. lediniana*, with abundant red, grape-sized fruits, and gives a mature height of 10–35 feet.
## Landscape Use
Use this tall palm as a focal point in a warm landscape with room for its trunk and crown. Its mature height varies, so allow generous vertical clearance and avoid placing it beneath wires or overhanging structures. [UF/IFAS](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/EP107) recommends full sun and [USDA GRIN](https://npgsweb.ars-grin.gov/gringlobal/taxon/taxonomydetail?id=30183) lists Wine Palm among its common names. The red fruit adds seasonal interest as it develops.
## Maintenance
Choose a sunny, warm site and give the palm space to mature. Water new plantings while they establish, then adjust care to local rainfall and soil drainage. Protect the growing point from injury during pruning or cleanup.
