Create design onlineAbout Tropical Pink Guava Tree
Tropic Pink is a warm-climate guava grown for sweet, fragrant fruit with pink flesh and a yellow-green rind as it ripens. Its evergreen canopy and spring and fall flowers make it useful as a fruiting focal tree where there is room for its mature spread.
## Fruit and landscape
The fruit has a sweet tropical flavor often compared with pear, strawberry, and melon. Trees.com lists a mature height of about 15–20 feet and notes that pruning can keep the plant smaller for a large container; the [Tropic Pink profile](https://www.trees.com/products/tropical-pink-guava-tree) also describes fragrant white blossoms and self-pollination. A second guava may improve the crop, but one tree can fruit on its own.
## Growing conditions
Choose a sunny site with well-drained soil. Guava roots are sensitive to persistently wet ground, so improve drainage before planting where water collects. The [University of Florida guava guide](https://ask.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/MG045) covers warm-climate culture, fruiting, and soil preparation. In cooler regions, a container allows the tree to be moved to shelter.
## Maintenance
Water deeply, then let the surface soil begin to dry before watering again; increase frequency during hot weather. Prune to control size, remove damaged or crossing branches, and keep container plants in proportion to their root space. Protect from cold and harvest ripe fruit before it drops.
