Sweet is a pomegranate selection known for mild, low-acid fruit with soft, edible seeds and pink juice. Orange-red flowers and glossy green leaves give the plant ornamental value as well as a late-summer harvest.
## Garden Use
The [Raintree Nursery profile](https://raintreenursery.com/products/sweet-pomegranate-10-inch-sleeve) identifies Punica granatum ‘Sweet’, notes late-spring flowers, and gives a 12-foot mature height and USDA Zones 7–10. The [Victory Nursery profile](https://victorynursery.us/products/punica-granatum-sweet) gives an 8–10-foot height and a 4–6-foot spread, while the [Fine Gardening profile](https://www.finegardening.com/article/growing-pomegranates-in-northern-california) also describes the selection as reaching about 12 feet. Mature size varies with site and pruning; it can be trained as a small tree, espalier, or container plant.
## Maintenance
Grow in full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly during establishment and more consistently during dry weather and fruit development. Prune in late winter to shape the framework and remove damaged or crossing branches.
