Create design onlineAbout Jill Flowering Pear
Jill is a rounded, compact flowering pear with white spring blossoms and green summer foliage that develops red-purple tones in fall. It is also reported under the name Jilzam; [Cornell’s Woody Plants Database](https://woodyplants.cals.cornell.edu/cultivar/11778) and the [University of Connecticut Plant Database](https://plantdatabase.uconn.edu/detail.php?pid=373) describe it as a dwarf Callery pear selection, while published mature-size estimates vary.
## Seasonal Interest
Clusters of white flowers appear in spring, followed by an ornamental canopy through summer and colored foliage in autumn. The rounded crown gives the tree a softer outline than narrow columnar selections.
## Placement
Use it as a specimen or small shade tree where there is room for a broad crown. Although described as dwarf relative to standard Callery pears, plan for a mature tree rather than a permanently small shrub.
## Maintenance
Provide sun and water while the tree establishes. Review the branch structure periodically and remove damaged or crossing growth with clean cuts.
