Unlike many European pears, Ambrosia pears are not gritty and have a wonderfully smooth texture to acompany the sweet taste. Produces fruit at a younger age than many pears and will produce yearly when properly pruned and thinned. Requires a second tree, like Barlett, to pollinate for fruit production. Highly resistant to fireblight.
