Rainbow Rhythm® ‘Lake of Fire’ is a compact daylily with vivid apricot-orange flowers, a broad orange-red eye, and a narrow golden-yellow edge. The upright foliage clump brings saturated color to the summer perennial garden.
## Placement and size
Proven Winners gives this selection a garden height of 24 inches and a spread of 18 to 24 inches. Set it in full sun to part sun, allowing roughly 18 to 24 inches between plants. It works in a border, container, or repeated group, and its orange-red flowers pair well with purple or blue companions.
## Flowers and growing conditions
The breeder lists spring and summer flowering, with the strongest display in midsummer, and USDA hardiness zones 3–9. Average water is appropriate; established daylilies adapt to a range of soils, but drainage and steady moisture support flowering. Avoid placing the clump directly beneath trees that compete for water and nutrients, as described in the [University of Minnesota Extension daylily guide](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/daylilies).
## Maintenance
Remove spent flowers and stalks as they finish. Divide crowded clumps in early spring or after flowering, then water the new divisions well.
