Rainbow Rhythm® ‘Nosferatu’ is a mounded daylily with fragrant, dark purple flowers and a chartreuse throat. Its ruffled petals and deep color stand out against the plant’s green foliage.
## Placement and size
The selection reaches about 26 inches tall and spreads 18 to 24 inches. Plant it in full sun to part sun, using the rounded clump as a border accent or a container filler. Allow the foliage and flower scapes room to fill out rather than placing the plant beneath trees or shrubs that compete for moisture and nutrients.
## Flowers and growing conditions
Proven Winners lists spring and summer flowering, USDA zones 3–9, and average water needs. The large flowers are borne on branched stems, and the breeder describes the saturated color as holding well in full sun. Daylilies grow in a broad range of soils; moist, well-drained ground helps them flower reliably. The [University of Minnesota Extension guide](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/daylilies) covers site preparation and seasonal care.
## Maintenance
Pinch off faded flowers and cut finished flower stalks back after the last buds open. Divide crowded plants in early spring or after flowering, then water thoroughly. See [Proven Winners’ ‘Nosferatu’ profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/hemerocallis/rainbow-rhythm-nosferatu-daylily-hemerocallis-hybrid) for its cultivar-specific measurements and bloom details.
