Rainbow Rhythm® 'Primal Scream' Daylily

Rainbow Rhythm® 'Primal Scream' is a tall daylily with glimmering tangerine-orange flowers and narrow, twisted, ruffled petals. The Proven Winners listing places it at about 34 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, with summer bloom and hardiness in USDA Zones 3–9. ## Garden Use Use this upright-looking mass of foliage and flowers in the middle or back of a sunny border, where its large orange blooms stand out. It also suits repeated groupings and container plantings; allow 18 to 24 inches between plants for the listed mature spread. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the flowers, while the listing notes rabbit resistance. ## Growing Conditions Plant in full sun for the strongest flowering, though part sun is also suitable. Proven Winners describes daylilies as adaptable to a range of soils and average moisture; keep newly planted clumps watered as they establish. The orange flowers rise above green foliage in midsummer. ## Maintenance Remove spent flower stems and old foliage as needed to keep the clump tidy. Divide crowded clumps when flowering or vigor declines.
