Create design onlineAbout Majesty Palm Plant
Majesty palm (*Ravenea rivularis*) is an evergreen palm native to Madagascar, where it grows along rivers and streams. Its long, arching green fronds create a tropical focal point, and young plants are commonly grown as indoor container specimens.
## Garden Use
In warm climates the palm can grow into a substantial single-trunk tree; indoors, growth is slower and the plant remains more compact. Allow room for the mature crown when planting outdoors, or choose a stable pot with space for the root ball. It is suited to frost-free USDA Zones 10–11.
## Growing Conditions
Provide bright, indirect light indoors or partial shade outdoors. Keep the soil evenly moist but well drained, and maintain warm temperatures and good humidity. Avoid cold drafts, direct hot sun, and standing water, which can scorch foliage or contribute to root problems.
## Maintenance
Check moisture regularly and water before the root zone dries out. Watch for yellowing leaves, which can reflect light, water, humidity, or nutrient problems, and inspect foliage for common indoor pests.
