This striking upright stonecrop forms substantial clumping mounds of near-black succulent foliage that provides dramatic contrast in the garden from summer through winter. Reaching up to 24 inches tall, it features sturdy stems topped with massive flower heads of cream petals and deep garnet red centers that bloom in late summer. Ideal for borders, mass plantings, or containers, this low-maintenance perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained, poor to average soil. It is exceptionally drought-tolerant and hardy in zones 3-9.
