Create design onlineAbout Rosa 'Meineble' Red MEIDILAND® Groundcover Rose
Red MEIDILAND® is the groundcover rose Rosa 'Meineble', with clusters of simple red flowers centered by small white eyes. Its spreading, low mounding growth and glossy foliage suit banks, broad borders, and areas where a rose can cover ground; flowers continue through the warm season and hips add fall interest.
## Garden Use
Allow room for a broad plant: sources describe a mature height around 1–2 feet and a spread near 4–5 feet. Place it in full sun for the strongest flowering. The [University of Illinois Extension](https://web.extension.illinois.edu/hortanswers/PlantDetail.cfm?PlantID=681&PlantTypeID=4) notes the groundcover form, continuous bloom, and orange-red fall hips; [NVK Nurseries](https://www.nvknurseries.com/plant/Rosa-Red-Meidiland-MEIneble) records white-eyed flowers and a vigorous spreading habit.
## Growing Conditions
Use a well-drained garden soil and water regularly while the plant establishes. Mature plants are described for USDA Zones 4–9, with source listings varying slightly at the cold end. Keep enough spacing for the wide arching canopy and airflow.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flowers when a tidier look or continued bloom is wanted. The cultivar is noted for resistance to black spot, but monitor foliage during humid weather and remove fallen leaves at season’s end.
