Miracle on the Hudson™ is a compact shrub rose with bright red, semi-double to double flowers and repeat bloom through the growing season. It has a rounded habit, strong disease resistance, and a reported mature height around 3–4 feet.
## Garden Use
Place this rose in a sunny border or grouped shrub planting where its red flowers can be seen through repeated flushes. Its compact form also suits a patio or foundation planting when there is room for airflow around the foliage. New growth may emerge with burgundy tones before maturing green.
## Growing Conditions
Provide full sun and evenly moist, well-drained soil. Nursery references list the rose for USDA zones 3–9, though performance and winter dieback vary by site and climate. Leave space around the shrub so leaves dry after rain and inspect the plant during humid weather.
## Maintenance
Prune or shape near the end of winter before spring growth begins, and remove spent flowers as desired. [J. Berry Nursery](https://www.jberrynursery.com/portfolio/miracle-on-the-hudson-rose) lists size and pruning guidance; the [American Rose Society newsletter](https://rose.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Newsletter-33.pdf) records the origin and trial awards.
