Create design onlineAbout Rudbeckia Rodeo™ Double Autumn
Rudbeckia Rodeo™ Double Autumn is a named Rodeo selection of Rudbeckia hirta for sunny seasonal plantings. Its species is an upright, branching biennial or short-lived perennial that can flower in its first year.
## Growing
Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained clay, loam, or sandy soil. Moderate fertility supports flowering; excessive lawn fertilizer can encourage leafy growth. Species plants typically flower from midsummer into mid-fall, and deadheading can extend the display. They may self-seed, so remove spent heads if you want to limit volunteers.
## Garden use
Use it in borders, small groups, naturalized areas, pollinator gardens, or cut-flower arrangements. Rudbeckia hirta generally has yellow-to-orange rays, though named selections can differ in color and flower form. The [North Carolina Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/rudbeckia-hirta/) provides species-level growing guidance; Green Fuse’s [Rodeo catalog entry](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/GreenFuse-Catalog-2021-22_xs.pdf) and the current [Rodeo Double Autumn product listing](https://www.griffins.com/category/PLANTS.UNROOTED.PERENNIALS.VIV) identify the marketed series and product.
## Maintenance
Water new plantings as they establish, then deadhead for repeat flowers or leave selected heads to mature where self-seeding is welcome. Watch for slugs and snails, which can damage Rudbeckia foliage.
