DownHome Harvest® ‘Navaho’ is a thornless, upright, clumping blackberry with exceptionally sweet fruit. It attracts pollinators, tolerates clay soil, and is listed for full sun and USDA zones 6a–10b. ([Southern Living Plant Collection](https://southernlivingplants.com/the-collection/plant/navaho-thornless-blackberry/))
## Site and fruit
Plant it in a sunny location with room for its canes, and water regularly while fruit develops. Southern Living lists a medium water need and uses including borders, containers, hedges, and mass planting. The deciduous canes flower in spring and return each year. The sweet berries are useful fresh or for preserving. ([NC State Extension](https://content.ces.ncsu.edu/blackberries-for-the-home-garden))
## Maintenance
Mulch around the plant and prune after fruiting. Remove spent fruiting canes and train new growth as needed; local cane growth and harvest timing vary with climate.
