About Blackberry DownHome Harvest® 'Osage'

Osage is a thornless blackberry cultivar with upright canes and a concentrated early-summer crop of sweet, dark berries. The fruit is useful fresh and for freezing, and the firm canes make picking easier than on thorny brambles. It is a floricane-bearing selection: flowers open in spring and the crop ripens in early summer. The official cultivar profile gives a mature size of about 4–5 feet tall and 3–4 feet wide, with full sun and hardiness zones 6a–10b. The patent describes erect, thornless canes and black fruit, while the cultivar page notes pollinator value. Clay tolerance is noted for this selection, though avoid standing water. After harvest, remove spent floricanes and keep new canes organized for next season; a light support can keep the planting accessible.
