Boyne is a very hardy, floricane-bearing red raspberry known for medium-sized, tender berries with a sweet flavor. Its vigorous canes produce a summer crop on second-year wood, so the harvest is distinct from fall-bearing primocane varieties.
The cultivar is recommended for cold-climate gardens, and regional sources place its hardiness around zones 3–7. White spring flowers precede the red fruit, attracting bees and other pollinators. ## Maintenance
Grow Boyne in full sun with well-drained soil and consistent moisture during flowering and berry development. Rows or a simple trellis help keep vigorous canes upright and improve picking access. After the summer crop, remove only the floricanes that have fruited; keep healthy primocanes to bear next year. Thin crowded canes and remove diseased material to improve air movement. Pick ripe berries frequently, since tender fruit is best eaten fresh or processed soon after harvest.
