Fall Gold is a yellow-fruited, primocane-bearing raspberry known for large, golden, sweet berries. It can provide a late-season harvest, and healthy canes may also be retained for a second crop the following year.
## Fruit and growth
The [University of Minnesota cultivar table](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/growing-raspberries-in-the-home-garden) describes Fallgold as a yellow primocane raspberry with large, firm, sweet golden fruit and very good to good hardiness. Oregon State lists Fall Gold among everbearing yellow raspberries for zones 4–8.
## Site and care
Full sun encourages fruiting, though raspberries tolerate some partial shade. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and keep roots moist during fruit development. Avoid waterlogged ground; raised rows can help where drainage is slow. The [OSU growing guide](https://extension.oregonstate.edu/catalog/ec-1306-growing-raspberries-your-home-garden) covers soil, irrigation and cane management.
## Maintenance
For a single fall crop, cut all canes down in late winter before growth begins. To keep a summer crop as well, retain sound overwintered canes and remove them after fruiting. Thin excess new canes to maintain an accessible row.
