Ruffled Satin Rose of Sharon

Ruffled Satin® Rose of Sharon is an upright, deciduous shrub with large, ruffled pink flowers and a deep burgundy-red eye. The flowers bloom through summer and attract butterflies and hummingbirds. ## Landscape use Plant in sun, in well-drained soil, and allow about 8–10 feet for both height and spread. Its full, bushy habit suits a specimen planting, flowering hedge, or mixed border. The flowers open on new wood, and the cultivar sets few seeds, which helps limit unwanted seedlings. ## Maintenance The plant adapts to most well-drained soils and needs little routine care. If shaping is desired, trim in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Water during establishment and extended dry periods.
