Sallyfun™ Blue Lagoon is an upright mealycup sage with blue flower spikes and a long summer display. Its early flowering and continued bloom make it a useful choice for sunny borders, containers and massed seasonal color. [Danziger’s Blue Lagoon detail page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/sallyfun-blue-lagoon/) confirms the exact selection; [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/salvia-farinacea/) describes the species’ garden care and pollinator value.
## Flowers and garden use
Blue spikes rise above green foliage on an upright plant suited to pots and landscape beds. Plants generally grow 10–18 inches tall and 12–16 inches wide. The flowers attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, and the sturdy stems can be cut for arrangements. Use it as a repeated accent through a border or in a mass planting where a continuous summer display is wanted.
## Growing conditions
Give it full sun and well-drained soil. Mealycup sage prefers moist conditions but tolerates dry clay, and the species grows in clay, loam and sandy soils. It is a tender perennial in warm regions and is often treated as an annual in colder areas. The species profile lists USDA zones 8–10 and blooming from spring until frost.
## Maintenance
Water while plants establish and during extended dry periods, particularly in containers. After a long flowering period, prune leggy stems to encourage compact foliage. Leave space around plants for air circulation.
