Sallyfun™ Sky Blue is Danziger’s individually listed blue-flowered selection in the SALLYFUN™ series. It is an early, upright sage promoted for combination plantings and for continuing color into summer.
## Growth and flowering
The breeder gives a mature height of 10–18 inches and width of 12–16 inches. Sky-blue flower spikes rise above aromatic, toothed green foliage. Salvia farinacea blooms intermittently from spring until frost and forms rounded clumps; the species is a tender perennial hardy in USDA zones 8–10 but is often grown as an annual outside its hardiness range.
## Garden placement
Choose full sun and well-drained soil that stays reasonably moist. Established plants tolerate some dry conditions, including dry clay. Use this upright, compact selection in borders, containers, mixed combinations, or cutting gardens. Its flowers attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and Danziger identifies the Sallyfun series as suitable for pollinator programs.
## Maintenance
Water regularly during establishment and extended dry spells. If stems become leggy after prolonged flowering, trim them to encourage compact foliage.
