About Lighthouse Purple Salvia

Lighthouse Purple is an upright, branching scarlet sage with dense violet-purple flower spikes. It brings strong color to summer beds and can also be grown in a large container. ([Promesse de Fleurs](https://www.promessedefleurs.ie/annuals/flower-seeds/flower-seeds-by-variety/salvia-seeds/salvia-splendens-lighthouse-purple-seeds-scarlet-sage.html), [Clemson Extension](https://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/salvia/)) ## Garden Use Place this tall annual behind shorter flowers or use it as a vivid focal point in a large pot. The cultivar is reported at about 2–3 feet tall and around 20 inches wide, with flower spikes rising above the foliage from summer into fall. ## Growing Conditions Give it a sunny position and a well-drained planting area. Salvia splendens is treated as an annual in many gardens; water regularly while plants establish and during hot, dry weather. Leave enough space for branching stems and airflow. ## Maintenance Pinch or trim damaged stems to keep the plant balanced. Remove faded flower spikes to tidy the display and encourage continued flowering while growing conditions remain favorable.
