Unplugged® Red is the scarlet sage selection Salvia coccinea 'DWsahyb03', with bright red flowers held above dark green, fragrant foliage. Proven Winners lists a 14–24-inch height, 12–16-inch spread, spring-to-fall bloom, and USDA zones 9–11. Its red spikes suit borders, containers, and mass plantings, and the source describes heat tolerance, drought tolerance once established, and attraction to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. ## Seasonal color Flowers continue from planting until hard frost in suitable conditions. The dark green foliage and upright habit make the plant useful as a container thriller or a bright mid-height accent. ## Maintenance Water regularly while plants establish. Once established, they tolerate lower water, although severe drought can cause lower leaves to drop. Light trimming can keep the plant full; deadheading is not required.
