About Black Gold Snake Plant

Black Gold snake plant is an upright, slow-growing selection with stiff, sword-shaped leaves edged in bright yellow. The dark green centers and gold margins make it a strong architectural accent for an indoor planter, entry, or office, and its tolerance of lower light suits rooms where many flowering plants struggle. ## Placement and growth Mature leaves are commonly grown to about 2–3 feet tall, with a clumping spread around 1–2 feet. Set the pot where the vertical leaves have room to rise without being bent or knocked. Bright, indirect light supports sturdy growth and clear leaf color; the plant can also adapt to lower-light rooms, though growth may be slower. ## Growing conditions Use a pot with a drainage hole and a loose, sharply draining cactus or succulent mix. Allow the soil to dry fully before watering again, and water less often in cool, low-light months. The fleshy leaves store moisture, so persistently wet soil is a greater risk than a short dry interval. Keep the plant warm and protect it from cold outdoor temperatures. ## Maintenance Wipe dust from the leaves with a damp cloth and remove damaged leaves at the soil line. Repot only when the rhizomes have filled the container or the pot is becoming crowded; divide offsets to make additional plants.
