New Wonder Blue is the blue-purple fan flower sold as the New Wonder selection. The University of Georgia identifies it as Scaevola aemula ‘New Wonder’; Clemson Extension lists blue-purple flowers, an 8–14 inch height, an 18–24 inch spread, and flowering through summer. ## Garden use
This warm-season fan flower is useful in hanging baskets, window boxes, containers, and landscape beds. Its prostrate stems carry fan-shaped flowers above toothed leaves. Clemson’s cultivar profile describes New Wonder as a full-sun to part-shade selection; the species performs best in medium, well-drained soil that stays evenly moist without becoming wet.
## Site and season
The fan flowers open through summer, and spent blooms clean themselves without routine deadheading. The named selection’s branching stems can spill over the edges of baskets and planters.
## Maintenance
Water when the soil begins to dry slightly, then allow excess water to drain. If stems become leggy, pinch them back to keep the plant more compact. Avoid keeping the root zone constantly wet.
