Naupaka Kahakai

A fast-growing coastal shrub indigenous to Hawaiʻi, with broad, somewhat succulent green leaves, distinctive half-fan flowers that are creamy white with occasional purple streaks, and rounded white fruits. In Hawaiʻi it is valued as a wind-tolerant hedge or border and tolerates salt spray and drought once established. It can spread aggressively outside its native range and is invasive in parts of Florida and the Caribbean.
