About Blue Surge™ Stonecrop

Blue Surge™ is a compact, slightly mounded stonecrop valued for silver-gray foliage, with a tidy profile suited to pots and landscape plantings. Its grower profile describes the selection as heat tolerant, drought tolerant, low maintenance, and attractive to pollinators. ## Size and placement Blue Surge™ is listed at 5 to 6 inches tall and 10 to 12 inches wide. The same profile recommends partial sun to sun and lists pots and landscapes as uses, making the small spread useful at a planter edge, in a path-side bed, or as a compact accent in a mixed planting. ## Foliage and garden role The rounded, silver-gray leaves provide a cool-toned contrast beside green or darker foliage. Its low mound can soften the edge of a container or fill a small open space without overwhelming nearby plants. Allow for the spread shown in the [Selecta North America plant profile](https://www.selectanorthamerica.com/SpringPlants/SeriesInfo/?phid=056600001053246). ## Maintenance Set it in freely draining soil and water while it establishes. Once established, let the soil dry between waterings; avoid leaving the roots in persistently wet soil. Trim back damaged or untidy growth as needed, and give container plants room to maintain their natural mound.
