Hosta 'Empress Wu' is a colossal perennial that forms a massive, upright mound reaching up to four feet tall and six feet wide. Its hallmark is the enormous, deeply veined, dark green foliage with leaves that can exceed 18 inches in length. This giant cultivar serves as a dramatic focal point in shade gardens, offering excellent ground coverage and slug resistance. It thrives in part to full shade and prefers moist, organically rich soil, producing lavender flowers in midsummer.
