Shadowland® Giant ‘Gigantosaurus’ is a broad hosta with large blue leaves and wavy yellow margins that mature toward creamy white. Pale lavender flowers appear in early summer above the foliage. Its substantial mound is suited to a woodland edge, mass planting, or spacious container.
## Foliage and flowers
Foliage reaches about 30–32 inches high and spreads 72–78 inches; the flower scapes are shorter at about 24–30 inches. The exact selection is documented by [Walters Gardens](https://www.waltersgardens.com/variety.php?ID=HSGIG) and [Proven Winners](https://api.provenwinners.com/plants/hosta/shadowland-giant-gigantosaurus-hosta-hybrid). The changing margin color adds interest as the leaves mature, while the pale flowers sit just above the foliage.
## Growing conditions
Grow in part shade or full shade in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. Walters Gardens lists USDA Zones 3–9 and average-to-consistent water needs; steady moisture helps support the large leaves. The plant also performs in acidic or neutral soil.
## Landscape use
Use the large leaves to create a bold ground-level accent, provide broad foliage texture, or fill space in a shade planting. Its wide mature spread needs room away from narrow paths and small neighboring plants.
## Maintenance
Water during dry weather and clear dead leaves after frost. Remove spent foliage as the plant enters dormancy. Walters Gardens describes moderate growth and notes that hummingbirds visit the flowers.
