SHADOWLAND® ‘Seducer’ is a Hosta with dark green leaves edged in wavy gold and a distinctly upright, vase-shaped habit. Walters Gardens lists foliage about 26 inches tall and 36 inches wide, with near-white flowers on tall scapes in late summer ([cultivar profile](https://wgi-img.s3.amazonaws.com/cms/97f965cf8af32050c8aa8b7204822b0f.pdf)).
## Foliage and placement
Use this large selection as a high-contrast focal plant in a shade bed, where the upright outline and gold margins can be appreciated. Filtered or dappled light supports clean foliage; morning sun is tolerated, while hot afternoon sun can scorch hosta leaves. Grow it in fertile, organic soil that holds moisture but drains freely. Walters’ hosta guidance gives a preferred soil pH range of about 5.5–7.5 and lists this selection for zones 3–9 ([growing guidance](https://www.waltersgardens.com/variety.php?ID=HSSOM)).
## Seasonal interest
The leaves carry the display from spring through summer, while late-summer scapes add a lighter vertical accent. Leave the scapes visible if you enjoy the near-white flowers, or remove them after bloom.
## Maintenance
Water during dry spells and use mulch to moderate soil moisture. Check for slug feeding during the growing season. After the foliage yellows and goes dormant, clear dead leaves from the bed in early winter; this also removes hiding places for slugs and other leaf-feeding insects, as recommended in Walters’ hosta care notes.
