About Snapshot™ Red Snapdragon

Snapshot™ Red is a compact dwarf snapdragon with bright red flower spikes held above an upright, bushy plant. PanAmerican Seed lists this exact PAS409646 selection at 8–10 inches high and 10–12 inches wide, sized for small pots, borders, and repeated low plantings. ## Season and placement The [PanAmerican Seed profile](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/057704570004463/snapdragon-snapshot-red/) lists early spring, spring, and autumn flowering, with plants grown for spring and autumn sales. Snapdragons are short-lived tender perennials commonly grown as annuals. [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/antirrhinum-majus/) recommends moist, rich, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade and notes that they prefer cool weather; high summer heat can reduce performance. The species is bee-pollinated and is seldom damaged by deer according to the Extension profile. ## Landscape use Plant in groups at a bed edge or in containers, where the compact upright spikes add color without the height of cut-flower snapdragons. ## Maintenance Avoid overhead watering. Remove finished flower spikes to encourage rebloom, and watch for rust and other fungal problems.
