Create design onlineAbout Speedy Sonnet White Snapdragon
White spikes of snapdragon flowers give Speedy Sonnet a clear vertical accent in seasonal beds and containers. Sakata identifies Speedy Sonnet as an F1 Antirrhinum majus nanum annual bedding series and lists White as one of its color forms. Its US product page describes sturdy side branching and a strong root system.
## Form and season
The breeder lists an upright habit and 18–24 inch height. Published spread varies: Sakata’s US page lists 6 inches, while the European page gives 25 cm. The current catalog’s 12 inch width is retained as a plausible garden-grown figure rather than replaced by a narrower production specification. The series is bred for early winter through early spring sales in high-light production; actual outdoor flowering shifts with local temperature and planting time.
## Siting
Sakata recommends full sun to half shade and classifies the series as annual. For species-level context, the [RHS snapdragon profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/69565/antirrhinum-majus/details) recommends sun and well-drained soil, and notes uses in borders, containers, and cut-flower gardens. These general species uses do not guarantee cut-stem length or vase life for this cultivar.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and dry spells, and ensure excess water can drain. Remove spent spikes to keep the planting neat and prolong its display; the RHS notes deadheading may extend flowering. Replace the annual planting when frost or hot weather ends the season.
