WonderStar Red is a determinate beefsteak tomato with bright red, ribbed fruit for fresh eating and cooking. PanAmerican describes the fruit as oblate and pleated, about 8–10 ounces, with harvest beginning roughly 60–65 days after transplanting. ## Fruit and form
The upright plant sets large red tomatoes that suit sandwiches, salads and cooked dishes. PanAmerican lists a mature height of about 24–36 inches and a width of 18–24 inches. Tomato plants have small yellow flowers and green foliage; mature fruit size and timing can vary with climate and growing conditions. ## Growing conditions
Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil that holds even moisture. Give the plant adequate room and use a cage or other support as fruit develops, following local tomato-growing practice. Tomatoes are warm-season vegetables and should be planted outdoors after frost danger has passed.
## Maintenance
Water consistently and check plants regularly as fruit grows. Harvest ripe tomatoes promptly and rotate tomato-family crops to a different bed in later seasons where possible.
