Create design onlineAbout Fairy Tale Eggplant
Fairy Tale is a compact eggplant that produces clusters of white fruit with violet-purple stripes. PanAmerican lists the fruit as tender and sweet, with maturity about 50–55 days after transplanting and a plant suited to containers or small gardens. ## Fruit and form
The elongated, mini-sized fruit can be picked very small or left to reach full size. The selection is semi-spineless and has a mounded habit; violet, star-shaped flowers and green foliage are characteristic of eggplant. ## Growing conditions
Set out in full sun after cold weather has passed. Use fertile, well-drained loamy or sandy soil and keep it evenly moist. The compact plant can be grown in a container or garden bed; it may be grown with or without support.
## Maintenance
Check moisture during warm weather and harvest fruit while its skin is glossy and tender. Use the fruit in cooked dishes, and avoid letting mature fruit remain until it becomes stringy or bitter.
