Kong® Red Coleus, Premium Shade

Kong® Red is a foliage coleus with very large, patterned leaves in the named red colorway. This mounded, upright selection grows about 18–20 inches tall and 15–18 inches wide; it performs in shade or partial sun and prefers full shade for best performance. ## Placement Feature it in a large container, mixed planting, or shaded landscape bed, leaving space for its broad foliage. PanAmerican Seed identifies this selection as Kakegawa CE12 and publishes 15–24 inches of spacing. Its [cultivar page](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/018003855004463/coleus-premium-shade-kong-red/) also lists US PVP200500015 protection information. [Ball Seed's plant details](https://www.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=018003855004463) describe the large patterned leaves, mounded-upright habit, exposure, and care profile. ## Growing care Ball Seed rates water needs as medium and lists heat tolerance and low maintenance. The PanAmerican grower guide advises watering early enough for foliage to dry by nightfall. Avoid pinching when large leaves are the priority; PanAmerican notes that pinching makes leaves smaller and delays production. ## Maintenance
