About Starblast Chiffon Rose of Sharon

Starblast Chiffon® Rose of Sharon bears white, double-centered flowers marked by a bold pink starburst. It flowers in summer and has the upright, rounded habit of the Chiffon series. ## Landscape use Give this deciduous shrub space to mature to about 8–12 feet tall and 5–8 feet wide. Full sun encourages the strongest flowering, though the plant can grow and bloom in partial shade. Use it as a specimen or in a flowering border where the high-contrast blooms can be seen. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit the flowers. ## Maintenance The shrub flowers on new wood and needs little pruning. If shaping is needed, do it in early spring, and allow time for it to leaf out later than many shrubs. Provide average water as it establishes.
