Create design onlineAbout Marley's Pink® Japanese Snowbell
Marley’s Pink® is the trade name for the weeping Japanese snowbell selection documented as ‘JLWeeping’ (USPP 23,755) by [its breeder, JLPN](https://jlpnliners.com/styrax-japonicus-jlweeping/). It bears soft pink bell-shaped flowers and glossy green foliage, with yellow fall color.
## Form and Seasonal Interest
The strongly weeping branches carry lightly fragrant pink flowers in mid-May to mid-June in the patent’s Salem, Oregon observations. Glossy dark-green leaves turn yellow in fall. Mature sizes depend on propagation and training: nursery references describe about 8–10 feet tall and 4–5 feet wide, and a leader can be trained to a chosen height. See the [US patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP23755P3/en) and the [J. Frank Schmidt listing](https://jfschmidt.com/all-trees/marleys-pink-snowbell/).
## Position and Care
Plant in full sun or part sun in average, well-drained soil; avoid persistently wet or excessively dry conditions. Provide average water; avoid excessively wet or excessively dry conditions. The breeder lists the selection for USDA Zone 5. It works in borders, foundation plantings, cottage gardens or as a specimen. Selective pruning is optional to shape branches; the natural form does not require routine training.
## Maintenance
Flowers form on older wood, so preserve flowering branches when shaping. Leave room for the pendulous crown and protect it from severe drying conditions.
