Summer Wave® Large Amethyst Wishbone Flower

Summer Wave® Large Amethyst is the ‘Sunrenilapa’ Torenia hybrid, with large purplish-red and purplish-pink petals and a reddish-purple floral tube. The plant branches moderately and produces abundant flowers; Ball FloraPlant describes its vigorous, trailing habit for shady beds and hanging baskets. [The exact Ball product page](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=062101452013036) confirms the selection and series, while the [US plant patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP16055P3/en) records its flower colors and suitability for beds, pots and baskets. ## Site and flowers Use this selection in a container or hanging basket where the flower color can be appreciated up close, or in a warm-season bed with filtered light. The patent describes a semi-erect, moderately branched plant; in a hanging pot its stems can arch and trail. Protect it from frost and treat it as a seasonal annual in cold climates. ## Maintenance Keep container soil evenly moist and provide regular feeding during active growth. Remove spent stems when tidying is needed, and allow the trailing growth to extend over basket edges.
