Superbells® Double Yellow Double Calibrachoa is a mounding, trailing Calibrachoa valued for its long display of bright yellow double flowers. It flowers from spring through fall and is especially suited to containers, hanging baskets, and window boxes, where its stems can spill over the edge. It is usually grown as an annual.
## Flowers and placement
The [Proven Winners cultivar profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/calibrachoa/superbells-double-yellow-double-calibrachoa-calibrachoa) identifies bright yellow double flowers on a mounding, trailing annual, 6–12 inches tall and 12–24 inches wide, with trailing stems to about 24 inches. It lists spring through fall flowering, part sun to sun, and USDA zones 9a–11b. The exact profile lists selection code WNCALSBDBLYEL23 and references Canadian plant rights and a U.S. utility patent. Give the plant room to trail and place it where the flowers can be viewed up close, such as a patio pot, window box, or hanging basket. [Kew’s taxonomic record](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:38309-1) places Calibrachoa in the Solanaceae family.
## Growing conditions
Choose a location with part sun to full sun. Use a well-drained potting mix and provide average moisture; Calibrachoa roots are sensitive to constantly wet soil. Containers make drainage and watering easier to manage, although a garden bed can work when the soil drains freely. The listed hardiness range is USDA zones 9a–11b; outside warm-winter areas, treat the plant as a seasonal annual.
## Maintenance
Water when the mix begins to dry, before the plant wilts severely, and feed regularly during active growth. Deadheading is not needed to maintain flowering. Around midsummer, trim the longest stems to refresh the shape, removing no more than about one fifth of the plant, then feed to encourage new growth. Check hanging baskets more often during hot weather because they dry quickly.
